Somewhere Back in Time : UP THE IRONS!
|
I have just flown in from Australia, it’s my 18th birthday today (Friday) the 4th of July and tomorrow we’re going to see the gods of heavy metal in Twickenham for their “Somewhere Back in Time World Tour”, Iron Maiden.
I seen them earlier on in this tour when they were in Brisbane, Australia and they were awesome. Lauren Harris who is with Iron Maiden this time as well were good, they didn’t play for too long and they weren’t crap, they were really tight and had a great sound, full of energy, I thoroughly enjoyed them a lot more than the other support bands I have seen at other shows and I am happy to see them again tomorrow. Behind Crimson Eyes played after Lauren Harris, they were crap, really messy sound and sounded terrible live, the Maiden fans hated them. I am glad they’re not playing tomorrow night. After the support bands it all went black and Churchill’s Speech played, “We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender!” ACES HIGH! Followed by 2 Minutes to Midnight, like Live After Death. After them they played in order Revelations, The Trooper, Wasted Years, The Number of the Beast, Run to the Hills, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Powerslave, Heaven Can Wait, Can I Play With Madness, Fear of the Dark, Iron Maiden, Moonchild, The Clairvoyant and for the last epic song they played Hallowed Be Thy Name. I cried in happiness when they played Fear of the Dark, it was the greatest thing I have ever heard. The whole crowd chanted the melody and lyrics of the song. It was the best atmosphere and emotion I have ever felt, to be a part of something so spectacular, the lighting and special effects were beautiful. As they played Iron Maiden on came the giant robotic cyborg Eddie from “Somewhere In Time”. Iron Maiden left the stage after Iron Maiden (the song) for a short break but returned quickly for Moonchild, The Clairvoyant and Hallowed Be Thy Name. Hallowed Be Thy Name was the best choice of song to close the show on and they played it so well, though every great band sounds better live. Iron Maiden is easily the best band I have seen live and I hope after tomorrow night like them even more. UP THE IRONS! Somewhere Back in Time : UP THE IRONS! |
